thank you dear friends for helping open my eyes to the law in the state which i live. i just purchased the book how to own a gun and stay out of jail by john machtinger at the insistence of my local gun dealer, very enlightening. pg 140 talks about assault weapons, inc rifles shotguns and pistols that have been modified in some way in which they suddenly are defined by the state as having been converted to an assault weapon. the law is if you did that got to register it as an assault weapon in 90 days if not, you have committed a crime.
pretty carefully read this as to the mossberg.
i think i better get the screw driver out and get to work asap.
that was good to know.
also if you have a clip that holds more than 10 rounds for a semi automatice pistol, this makes it an assault weapon.
unless i am reading this stuff wrong, this is in fact california gun law.

you are absolutely right had to read page 141 of how to own a gun and stay out of jail, 5 times to get it.
i can relax now.
3 elements have to be present to be considered an assault weapon.
a. must be semiautomatic shotgun.
b. must have telescope fold stock
c. must have pistol grip below.
i pass my mossberg 500a is not semi automatic, its pump.
that is ok i am getting better at assembling and reassembling.
