My brother has one and he loves it. He finds that the recoil is very mild. The 8045 has a rotating barrel similar to the Colt All-American. As the slide moves rearward, the barrel rotates as the brass is ejected. It is a good, reliable pistol.The 8045 has a full size grip with a 3.6" (?) barrel. If I owned one, I would use the Cor-Bon 185 +p load and change the recoil springs every 1500 rounds.
