Crazyfornia and the CZ 82

Hey guys,
I'm looking at these gorgeous CZ 82's all over the internet and GunBroker for around $200, but Commifornia won't let 'em into the state with the 12 round mags! One seller said he'd knock off a few bucks and keep the 12 round mag, but is there a supplier of 10 round magazines for this great gun to make it legal here?

I appreciate that Toolman, I was in Texas a few months ago, and Texans are some of the most courteous and polite folks around. Probably 'cause most of 'em are packin'!
Gunracks in the rear windows of trucks parked at WalMart... Only in Texas!

Now I don't know for certain if this is true anymore so I'd double check if I was you, but used to be residents of a state could purchase handguns in the immediate contigious state (bordering each other) as long as they could purchase legally in their home state. I'd bet though Whackyfornia has some State Law now preventing that, but you might purchase the piece online with your C&R and then check out a few gunshows and get the magazine at a later date?

You could also get a 10-round new manufacture mag for a CZ-83. They are the same gun but in .380. Those mags should work fine

Haven't tried it myself Earl, but I've been told Arizona dealers won't sell to someone with a California I.D.

Phoenix is right about 10 round mags for a CZ-83, but I would not take bets about their correctly feeding a 9x18 Mak from a magazine sized to a 9x17 Kurz. I accidently bent the lips on my 10 round mag and found it was quite tricky to get them bent back to the right shape!

Everywhere I've read says that the 83 mags work fine in the 82

I think it's J&G that has Commiefornia special CZ82's for $269.99. It might be AIM Surplus, not sure. Just purchased a CZ82 at GAnder Mountain in N.Y. $249.99 plus tax. Really NICE gun! Makes me look good, so accurate. Only thing so far is the slide hits the hammer, making it stick in two places. Anybody know anything about this? Is it normal?

No CZ-82's, but they do have CZ-83's with 10rd mags for $355 and change: CZ-83

The CZ83 is on the list but the 82 is exempt since it's C&R now
