T/C Hawken

Hello all
I had just aquired a used Thompson/Center Hawken 54 cal muzzle loader. I do not know to much about it other than having double set triggers and an octagon barrel. Does anyone know where I can get more information on the gun? I am trying to figure out the approx age. I can not even find the last year the 54 cal was in production. It is a nice gun looks like it was hardly ever fired.

or anywhere for that matter?
there are an awful lot of t/c hawkens

It says Thompson/Center Arms CAL54 Rochester, New Hampshire (on the Hammer side). and on the other side it has a Number 235516.
That is all that is on the barrel. Nothing on the Stock or anywhere else. Has a wooden ramrod with brass ends.

I just pulled the barrel off the stock and there is a letter "M" stamped into the bottom of it.

I would contact TC and give them the info you have. With that serial no.they can send you a manual on how to shoot that gun safely. Or go to TC site. to Customer Service. Hit manuals and down load Shooting TC Side Lock Black Powder Guns. That should give you the info your looking for.
