| Well, my preference for a .308 and yours are different. I bought the 18" bull barrel DPMS LR-308 and put a high power scope on it. I love it, but it is a little on the heavy side - but that is how I planed it (recoil reduced). No right or wrong way to have fun.
My DPMS M-4 is set up kinda like you are going with the FAL - I have the 16" M-4 profile barrel with an Aimpoint. I have been contemplating the 3x magnifier with the flip mount, but I cant see that much money in that little optic. I am thinking about just replacing the aimpoint with an ACOG. Have you thought about a trijicon Acog calibrated for the .308 round? That would definitely extend your range and still work for CQB. |
