A good example of why my carry guns have Crimson Trace lasergrips on them......

Lasers can either save you or reveal your position. I take them with a grain of salt, but I do want one...

In my opinion, they're really only good for close in self-defense when I can't use my sights, to insure a hit rather than a miss, to prevent accidently hitting an innocent bystander, etc. In that case, I'm sure my position would be known anyway.

For target shooting, they're great if you're shooting at exactly the distance they're zero'd to. Any closer or farther, and the dot goes out of sync with the POI by a little bit. I wouldn't try taking a head shot at 50 yards with 'em anyway.

Yeah I agree. I think it's probably a really good training device for gun n00bs like me.
