| How do you buy a pistol out of state?
You used to read in the NYC newspapers all the time about Bloomberg's gun stings in Virginia, in which the mayor of a city in another state harassed gun shops that made what he claimed were "straw purchases" of firearms, or that sold pistols to his "investigators" outright. That is, until the courts told Hizzoner to knock his illegal behavior off or else. But it does make me wonder something. Let's suppose you have your New York CCW permit in hand and you go to a gun shop down South where you find the pistol of your dreams at a price you can afford, and you have the money in hand to buy it. Can the gun shop legally sell you the pistol and allow you to walk out with it, the way Bloomberg's stormtroopers are alleged to have done? Or do you have to go through the bull-loney of having it shipped to a FFL in your home state, with you having to pay for the shipping and the FFL transfer fee? I suppose what I am asking is how do sales of pistols in one state, to someone who is not a resident of that state, really work? |

In TN a rsident if florida cannot buy a gun period there are a couple of other states as well but I dont remember which. I found out the hard way since I just moved here from Miami I had to get my Tn I.D.'s before I could purchase.

Cyrano: sir the most aggravating crock of hogwash is purchasing out of state. [ I am fortunate' to have FFL that will work with me] We can buy gas, spend a fortune in traveling, buy anything, walk into a gun store; finding that 'one' and have to jump through hoops. Crock of crap. You might want to say "this chap aint happy about stupidity"

That should be legal to do as long as you have an address. Due to the question poised at this thread, I'm wondering if the Supreme Court rules that the 2nd Amendment does mean we have the right to own and bear arms if it will nullify laws such as this one ? A.H |

My prediction is that most existing laws will stand. The only ones that will go down are those that basically amount to a downright ban, either in fact or in practice.

What happens if they rule against the individual right to keep and bear arms? Could the next law be to pick up all individual arms?

Then vote these gun grabbers out. Vote freedom first. Guns owned by individual Americans help keep America free. I live in what I believe is the best country in the world but we have to use our votes wisely to keep it free. I digressed from the topic, here you would have to have the pistol shipped to an FFL in your state.

| Some states require you to register all firearms that you bring with you when you move into that state. You would have to register them before you could sell them.
