I've owend S&W, Ruger and Dan Wesson in the past and all I can say is that the Tracker .44 4" I've got is as good as they all were. I've shot 240 jhp full loads down to .44 spec. lead and never had nothing but great performance from this gun.
Of course I own 4 (2 autos & 2 revolvers) and never had a minute trouble out of any, and you will say I was just lucky.

$750 only get me S&W 629-6 in People Republic of California and it even come with that safty internal lock thing

I'm Another Alaskan that spends alot of time in both the back country and in the city.
I have two taurus revolvers a mod 85 in 38 spl. and the 6 1/2" m44 , both of these guns have put hundreds of rounds down range and I have never had a problem with either. It dont have to be pretty or cost a months pay, it just has to be ready when you need it.
