| I've seen a film of this a few months back. The volunteer didn't seem to react any worse than a more typical Taser - that is to say, he reacted like it hurt like hell and fell over.
I do sort of like this idea. Very Fire and Forget, which is a definite plus for LEOs, especially in chaotic situations.
Now we just need to make sure it's not a first resort choice.
Although...packaging it like this makes me think that it's less likely to be used as casually as the gas-powered guns are. It's a great deal more threatening to the target, who may be more inclined to comply, and the LEO might also be less prone to fire it off without thinking about it first.
Can't think of a reason not to like this one.
