Finally picked one out

A local gun shop has these for $199.00. I'm glad I got to hold one. I was leaning Gamo but this gun blows them away. It is interesting to note how many customers that bought the RWS 34 have brought targets in to hang by the pellet gun rack. He dosen't have layawy, so I need to scrape up a few more dollars to add to what I have. Hopefully within the month of July.

Looks like a nice air rifle. I have a Gamo that I rarely shoot. Mine is the standard old air rifle - .17 cal. @1,000fps. I like that .22 cal - I may have to look into that.

I was surprised at how accurate mine is at reasonable ranges. It came with a decent little scope. I was picking the "cherry tomatoes" off the wife's tomato plant in the back yard @ about 10-15 steps the last time I had it out. I was impressed with it.

the cabelas outfitter hunter series is a bad a-- gun to shoot as well. less expensive, and comes with pba ammo, 3-9x40 mil scope, and will shoot up to 1200 ft. per sec. with pba ammo. 1000 ft. per sec with regular ammo. i reccomend the raptor ammo for this gun.

When you field dress a squirrel, do you need to leave indication of it's sex attached until you get to a game check? LOL.

Thumbs up

Jerry...You got my interest up with your post so I looked in Auction Arms, too, to see if they were being sold there and for what price. Here's what I found:

UMAREX #216-6160 Model 34 .177 Caliber
This is our most popular model. Accuracy, power and style combined into one affordable rifle. Using our time proven spring piston powerplant housed in a breakbarrel rifle, the Model 34 in .177 caliber is capable of smoking the 1000fps plateau. Though designed as a workhorse airgun devoid of extra trimmings, this rifle is still graced with polished blued metalwork, a full sized hardwood able trigger, an automatic safety, and a finely rifled barrel.

This model is also offered in a carbine version for those shooters seeking a compact, potent sporting rifle. In addition, the Model 34 is a available in two all weather versions, both with extremely durable black epoxy finishes on the stocks. The 34N has a nickel-electrolysis finish on the metalwork, while the 34B has a discrete matte black coating on its metal. The combinations of special finishes on the stock and metal make these two editions relatively maintenance free, while creating an eye-catching impression. For those shooters looking for a magnum airgun on a mini budget, look no further than the RWS Model 34.

Caliber: .177
Total Length: 45"
Barrel Length: 19"
Weight: 7.5 lbs
Velocity in fps: 1000
Trigger Pull: 3.3lbs
Cocking Effort: 33lbs

Mfg: UMAR
MfgNo: 216-6160
Current Price: $183.00

Usually just leave the antlers on them

The gun is nice Ox.
Only draw back was a complicated scope mount system. One of our other members had the same issue I believe. Once the scope mount was setled in and lok-tighted, everything was fine.

.177, I splurge and use the Gamo PBA (gold plated ammo) a little spendy at .11 per round, but worth it for squirells. Pretty much have to head shoot them. I tried a frontal chest shot. The PBA penetrated, but just sloweed him down some to get in position for a head shot.

This was one of the targets I used to sight in with.
