| 22 pump with clip Does anybody know the story on this rifle? It is an older Savage 22 pump and instead of a tube it has a clip. Stumbled across one and didn't know such a think existed. |

| Is this it? If so, it's a Savage Model 1903. |

| Not much, sadly. I have an early one (4 digit serial #). Mine is a take down version. I really don't know much about it (got it at a garage sale). I don't even know if a non-takedown version was made. Hopefully someone here has more info (I'd like to know more myself). Found this: Information on 1903 Savage - THR |

| From the 25th Edition of the gun Trader's Guide, I find the Savage Model 1903 and the Model 1909, both slide-action with box magazines. The M1903 was produced from 1903 to 1921, worth $225 in Excellent condition, $153 in Good condition. Octagon barrel. The M1909 was produced from 1909 to 1915, worth $195 in Excellent, $133 in Good. Round barrel. Both are listed as "hammerless, take-down". All other Savage slide-actions had the tubular magazine. So, a nice old .22LR rifle, but it won't make you rich to sell it.

| Righto, 'Strat! Even in different parts of the country, value can vary greatly. If it's rarely seen, it'll command a higher price.

| I just grabbed up a 29A round barrel and a 1909 for $400 and figured I did good, still pretty sure on that one. Also picked up a 1905 swiss butt for $210 last weekend at auction. |
