| problem with remington 710
A freind brought over his remington 710 becuase he was having trouble getting the bolt back in the gun, after alittle while managed to get back in, while i was locking and unlocking the bolt i inserted the magazine and when i went to slide the bolt back into place it caught on somthing about a 1/4" away from were i could lock the bolt down. What could it be catching on? (removing the magazine did not help)

He managed to get the bolt back in but we are still not sure why it was catching in the first place,we think that it may have something to do with the magazine but we are not sure. Nothing appeared to be broken or bent and once I oiled it the bolt appeared to work fine though I have seen some smoother boltactions

the 770 i have you have to tilt the back of the bolt up to slide the bolt into the receiver as the back of the receiver has a very stout polymer insert but once in the switch on the back right of the reciever has to be flipped down or else whn you move the bolt to the rear the bolt comes out

if you look most people curse the 710. I have one myself i picked up cheap so i use it. but it is not the smothest action by any means but it does go bang when you pull the triger.

my 770 shoots as good as the 700, no problem with keeping 1 inch or under at 100 yards
