NRA ROCKS!!!!

Got home today to find a letter addressed to my husband dearest and myself. Last month at a gun show, we had purchased a raffle ticket from the NRA for the Guns of November. It gave you four chances at the Illinois Pick Four Lottery, per day, with each day offering a different gun as a prize.

It seems as though on November 20th we won ourselves a Remington Spartan SPR210 Side-by-Side 20 guage shotgun with one of our four numbers.

Is that cool or isn't it!?!

We had our doubts about our chances of winning, but now we are believers. Trust me everyone, it's well worth the 30 dollar donation to the NRA to get in on one of these contests. I'm glad that we did.

Yeah, and the kicker is that we still could win another gun before the end of the month...not that we're greedy or anything....

Far out, congrats! I won a Remington 30-06 autoloader from a raffle at a bar one time, but I wasn't able to keep it, had to sell it. Sure was cool to win though! Only bought one $5 ticket, and it was the only time I was ever in the joint.

If I won a 30-06 they would have to pry it from my cold lifeless hands.....after I'd emptied the magazine. I wonder if they are offering one up on the Guns of November?

Ok since you brought it up. You owe an explanation as to your actions, selling a 30.06, might as well said that you sold a 50BMG.

You were in a bar so you were not underage.

Apparently redhed is above the age of owning a weapon she will now have double. I don't want to confront her in a dark alley.

Ok you answer, be honest.

Don't know if I'll shoot it much, maybe only 100-200 times before I turn it over to my better half.Maybe I can talk him out of his 12 gauge.

Just edited that date on my post. 20th, not 30th. OOps sorry about that. I checked the Illinois Lottery site and sure enough, the winning number was definitely ours on that date.

I called the gun shop today that donated the Shotgun we won. Nice people. They told me to just fax them the letter the NRA sent us along with the address of our FFL holder and they would be glad to send us the weapon so we wouldn't have to drive the distance to get it. A simple call to our local Gun Shop owner/friend and it's a done deal. I wonder if any one else has been lucky enough to win a weapon through the NRA's Guns of November contest? They were offering some really nice and expensive weapons as prizes.

Still no word on our NRA Shotgun. I called the Bullet Stop Gun Shop who is donating the gun to find out that somehow the gun comes from the NRA. The shop owner sorta laughed and said, The Guns of November are more like The Guns of June....well so much for Christmas...may by my husband's birthday in June, or mine in July? Does the NRA still Rock? Wellllll ....yeah. I guess....maybe...

I spent a week calling the Illinois Rifle Association....great folks. I highly recommend the organization to Illinois gun owners. I also made a few calls to the NRA ( who for the most part were great also, especially their member services staff ) and today received a call from my local FFL telling me that our prize Shotty mysteriously appeared on their door step this morning.

I had found out that for the most part, no Guns of November winners had received their prize guns yet, and a call to the regional NRA rep from the ISRA finally got things on the move.

The ISRA asked me if I would participate in another Guns of November and after thinking about it for two seconds said, sure, I love a challenge.

We get our Remington Spartan on either Friday night or Saturday morning, depending on the weather. Gun Porn to follow....

Check out the new member of the family.

Thanks to persistence, and the help of Kimberly in the member service devision of the NRA and Mike Huber, the NRA rep in our region, we finally got the shot gun that we won back in November. She's a beaut and worth the wait. Many a clay pigeon will die a painful death with this shotty in my husband's hands.
