| Question about filling out a C&R I recently received a C & R license form and was reading through it. One question kinda caught me as being odd and I was wondering about everyone's opinion or experience with it.
Under Question #10, 18 C. Are you in possession of a valid hunting license or permit lawfully issued in the United States?
1. If you answered "NO" you likely cannot lawfully possess a firearm and therefore cannot be a federal firearms licensee.
2.If you answered "Yes", complete the following information, and attach a copy of the hunting license or permit to the application.
In a word, "HUH?"
Did I get the right application? I have a valid Illinois FOID card, but haven't planned to get a hunting license until March when the new ones are available. Why should possessing a hunting license preclude me to owning a firearm?
I don't necessarily want to hunt a lot although I wouldn't mind doing a little deer and rabbit hunting next year. If I have to get a hunting license in order to collect the antique guns that I love then I will, but this really seemed like a strange requirement to getting a C & R license.
Any one have any experience with this that could help me. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. RH |
