Weather or Not

Hey everyone, it's 21 degrees where I am and there is 1/2 inch of ice on everything with more on the way in the form of a Winter Storm/Ice Storm Warning. We are for the most part iced in, no one going in or out and as for doing any serious shooting, probably ain't gonna happen. How's the weather where you are? What shooting if any did you do over the weekend and how did you do? I need to live vicariously through somebody right now.

Here in East TN it got up to 78 degrees today LOL anddddddddddd my daughter and I went to the range and shot for an hour. I shot 180 rds through my new Beretta U22, shot at 15 yards and 25 yards and did quite well for myself just starting out. I am loving it more and more each time I get to shoot I guess because I am improving. It is supposed to be in the 70's all week but I won't be going back to the range til probably Friday.

Nothing like a wintery trip to the range. I'll be dragging out the handi rifle as soon as I can

I wouldn't want the ice but I am telling ya the truth if I could trade anyone these temps for a really good snow I would in a heartbeat.

I LOVE snow and I miss it very much, I was born and raised in WV where our winters held lots of "no school because of snow" days, nice padded down snow for sleigh riding and snowball fights and snowmen. I moved to TN 10 years ago and we haven't had enough snow in the 10 years to make ONE good snow in WV. I am honest, I miss it so very much!!!!

I did have a great time at the range and I forgot to mention that my daughter and I with husbands in toll went to Natosha's mother in laws outside the city limits and shot on Saturday for an hour and a half so we are getting in lots of practice.

JERRY, you got nerve flashing that gorgeous snow on here and expect me to grin and bare it ROFL, now I am standing beside redhed.............. WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH Hehehe J/K but geeze!!!!!

It was in the 70s here, but the fog's been so thick you could cut it with a knife. Very low visibility makes for bad shooting. Can't even see the stop lights until I come up on them.

Hey, jerry, what are you shooting?

And G&D, I'll gladly see if I can't find a way to ship you the ice storm that they say is coming our way over the next 36 hours.

Oh well, we have our guns to keep us warm.

We're gonna wait a month or so before we start the match just to give everybody's weather a chance to calm down.

Shooting my .50 TC Hawken. Old school rate of twist, 1:48 patched round balls only. Using Pyrodex only because BP is so hard to find without special order any more.

Ya'll stay safe regardless of where your at

Cool! I have a Kentucky Percussion .45 en route for my better half's Christmas gift. It will be the first muzzle loader in the family.

Waiting a month to start the Shooting Competition should be about right. Weather around here tends to start to mellow out a bit by the middle of March. This winter's weather patterns seems to be following last and be more typical for Western Illinois. Lots of Ice and cold early followed by snow and cold after the first of the year. By March it should be a lot better. I hope...

Jerry, looks like you got more snow and less ice than we did. Lucky you.

It's 70 currently in NC right now. Not normal. Wednesday it's going to be 80 and I'm taking out the mustang for the first time, and drive it around with the top down.

My husband I went shooting on Sunday. Here in Washinggton it was snowing a bit. Nothing more than maybe three quarters of an inch and it melted by evening time. We took four rifles with us: 1910 .303 Enfield, 1923 91/30 Mosin Nagant, an SKS(not sure of the year on that one), and the brand new Romanian PSL (the one in my avatar) that we bought the day before at the WAC show. Actually the avatar is a picture from Sunday, right before I took the first shot from the rifle. We shot for a couple of hours and then got the the point where we couldn't feel our toes so we packed up and came home. But any day shooting is a very good day!!!
