Just dont know what to do........

Ok so i have the opportunity to purchase a pistol by this weekend. I want a CZ-52. Only problem is that the only place around here that has one is SOG and i dont have a FFL so i'd have to have it done through a local gun store and the only one who will do it wasnt 185. OR i can go to AIM Surplus and pay for the 1895 Nagant which would come out to be around 100 with tax and all that. Should i wait till a place like AIM gets one in where i can buy from them through the customer counter or just go ahead and buy the Nagant right now? Does anyone know how often AIM gets in CZ-52 pistols??

seems kinda like places around here wanna rip you off. i keep calling and asking around and the prices of the CZ-52's just keep going up and up. First one was 185 and the next one was 219!

the cz-52 are pretty common, the nagants are nice but the ammo is a bit pricey, unless you buy the 32 acp cylender to go with it.

$185 is quite steep for a transfer fee. Usually it is from $25 - $50. Check with SOG and find out who thay normally go through in your area. Most distributors will beable to give you reference to a dealer.

You're talking apples and oranges there, Nick. It's like asking us whether you should buy an old Mustang or a dirt bike. They're totally different critters, and it depends on what you like (unless you're like me, and like 'em all...).

The Nagants are a piece of history, and fun to shoot. Once you get past the primitive sights, they're almost shockingly accurate when fired single-action. Shocking until you remember the Russians used them in international competition, of course.

But they're underpowered, slow to reload, and there isn't all that much original-type ammo out there for them. If you go to the .32 S & W Magnums, or get the .32 ACP cylinder, you'll pay a price in accuracy and they'll spit lead shavings back at you.

If you like sheer firepower, the CZ-52 is the way to go. It shoots a much more powerful round, shoots them faster, and reloads as fast as you can switch out magazines. They're fun too...
