Anybody know what type of sights were originally issued with this rifle?
Thanks

Depends on if it is an early model, or 1993 re-issue.
The 1993 re-issue came without sights...

The early ones had either the 82a sliding ladder sight that fit the big dovetail or a peep sight that mounted on the left side or one that fit the big dovetail. The peeps came from Lyman and other makers. The 82a's show up on ebay but they are not cheap. They also have proper peeps for them. If you want to know what was on your gun from the factory you will have to contact the museum in Cody Wyoming. They have the Win. records and charge a small fee to look it up. Ps. love the 52b's I have three 1 from 1950 and 2 from the 90's(reissue)

If you need any parts let me know I am always looking for parts and finding the ones I don't need but someone else may. I am looking for a front barrel band now. found one but it was the wrong one mine needs to be round with two ends that go strait down and I need the tapered screw that go's through the side of the stock and through the two ends and screws into a nut in the far end of the stock. My Grandpa's has no sights, just a dovetail. But it has a set of Redfield Olympics and a Weaver 4x with it.

some peeps have the big dovetail mounting. Your redfield might mount on the left side where there are a couple holes drilled and tapped, some need a mounting plate between the rifle and sight. I was hoping to see which you have. If I get a dig. camera for xmas I can show you mine and that might help. also the reciever is different on some models (my 52 is different than my 52b)

I just got a 1948 Winchester rifles & shotguns component parts book it also has sights and accessories. these reprints are nice to find out what parts are right for these old guns. It has the mod b in it and a list of the proper peeps and front sights as well as all the other parts. do you have the sporter barrel or the heavy? mine is just a tad under an inch dia.

These are some of the sights used on Winchesters (only the ones I think were on 52's)
Lyman 57E, 57W, 58E, 48WH, 48WIS, Redfield 75HW, Vaver 3875, and maybe 84A and I know the 82A was the normal one. These are all rear peeps. For front sights ,Valver1175, Redfield 63, Lyman 77. I am sure there are more and I'm not sure all of these fit 52's but most do. These are out of the Winchester parts book. ps. the sporter barrel had normal rifle sights I did not include any of them in the list.
