I have a Win. mod 70 in the old xtr grade and in .223 and the barrel is marked sporter varmit (my spelling may be off) I talked with one of the Win. reps. and asked about this gun and he said there was no such thing but that someone at the factory had marked them that way for about 6 months.(in the 80's) anyone heard of this? The rifle has sporter weight barrel and full size action, jewelled bolt, nice wood and finish, and nice blue. ![]() |
