Well friends I am in a quandry, the evile stepson has advised me he has an acquaintance who is trying to sell a 1911A1 with 3 mags for the ridiculous price of $200 and wanted to know if I was interested. Hmmmm... Thoughts ? Comments?

Well, if the acquaintance can prove it was not stolen, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I can't think of a 1911 that is not worth more than $200.

For that price, I would think long and hard where it came from, or what it's being sold FOR. Sounds like one hell of a deal if it isn't stolen, or isn't being sold to enable some nasty habit. Good luck.

Yeah, I suppose making sure it's legal would be a good thing too. But I wouldn't worry about WHY he's selling it if it's legal. Addicts wanna sell me something cheap, I'll buy it as long as it's not stolen. I don't care about their self-inflicted problems. I met a guy once long ago that bought a Harley from a cokehead for $500, with a clean title! What make is it? |

$200 is an amazingly awesome price, but not so low that I'd rule it out on grounds of fishiness. I agree that a S/N check would be in order.
