CETME for 600

There is a place around here that has a CETME that was made by Century Arms. Guys said it is 600. Now he did say it is one of the earlier produced Century Arms CETME's. Are their earlier ones worth 600? or were they kinda junk and not put together real well? The place does have lay away and allows people to make payments so im really considering this rifle IF it would be a good candidate. I havent been able to look at it or check it ou. Now he also has one of the new ones with the black synthetic stock for 650. I like the look of the wood better but are the newer ones a better buy?

From what I've been reading, in general the earlier rifles were the most reliable, then QC fell of somewhat. The last batch seemed pretty good, though I have read of the black synthetic stocks being somewhat fragile.
Best bet is if you can shoot it before buying, or if the seller will take it back if it fails.

I have a newer model and have had zero problems I paid 699 for it, but it has an upgraded barrel. Its more accurate then my bff cetme, he has an older wood stock model. His is heavier than mine but the kick is alot less also, not that mine is bad. personaly I like the synthetic stock but the rifle is to long for a 400 meter rifle so Im waiting on a side folding stock.
