Locations where my AR-10 is allowed to hunt (deer) or other animals

Hello all,

This is my firwst post and this site has been most helpful in my search for a new rifle. I read up about your comments and I decided on a DPMS Panther AP4 in a .308 Winchester Calibre.

My first (of many) questions:

I am from Northern IL, just under the WIsconsin border. We have some of the premier deer hunting and hunting is asport I would like to get into while back home on leave from school at west point. However, I do not believe that an AR style rifle is allowed to hunt in my state (muzzle loaders, shotguns and handguns only

) I know there are places in WI where I can hunt with it. Does anyone know of more places in the midwest where I can take my Black Rifle baby and put her to use?

Welcome aboard. Michigan is one state where you can use your rifle, but the lower portion of the lower peninsula is shotgun only, as I remember.

Lower band of two counties in Iowa. All across the state lower two counties.
