| Im buying a recever I'm looking at several recevers on cmp and i would like to know which one i should get they are an Inland, Underwood, Winchester ,or Quality Hardware. Theres only a small price range. Its going to be a shooter. I'm looking at quality vs price. I'm not going for value. Its going into a ram line stock w/ a bipod and have a scope |

Go with Inland. They are good receivers and probably least expensive. Besides, it is cheaper to get Inland parts on the off chance you decide to build it correct....

Buy a CMP rack grade.

All U.S. built carbines were built to the same specs. Pick the one in the best condition.

| Mooseman (as Usual) is correct of course. You send in the app/money for a specific manufacturer and they send you what they pick out from that manufacturer. As far as type of receiver, I do not believe you can go wrong with any of them since they were made to the same specs and interchangeable (which is what sunray may have meant). I am not aware that one make was better functionally wise, than another. Rarity/Name recognition, seems more of a factor in pricing than anything else. Also keep in mind, and take to heart, the description CMP has supplied. Even though the CMP has a tendency to under-rate items resulting in a better purchase than described...there is always the Murphy factor that may present you with an item exactly as described...pits, rust, and no rifling. You can always e-mail Nina and request a better item but it will still be the pick of the draw for the most part. I agree with .22Guy...get a rack grade; at least you will have all the parts needed when you start to build whatever you want to build. |

With SOG you need an FFL or to go through a dealer. That will add expense.

For any receiver, you need to go through an FFL/dealer. A C&R doesn't cut it except for complete firearms.
