A local shop had their weekly "Sunday Sale" and were pawning off stuff that's been laying around the shop for a while..
The first thing that caught my eye was a 1942 M38 Swedish Mauser. After a couple minutes of inspection, and the fact that the price was $299, down from it's original price of a touch over $400, it was set behind the counter for me.

The other thing that caught my eye was the Savage 93R17-BVSS. It'd been around the shop for a while, but was still new with tags. I picked it up, and set it down.. Then I picked it up and set it back down..

The original price on it was $350, and it was marked down to $250.. Not a handling mark anywhere, and I liked the feel of the gun, and I've never owned an AccuTrigger but have played with them before (and it has one)..

So, apparently the third time's a charm, because when I picked it up the third time I said I'd take both and proceded to fill out the 4473 form..

So.. I've only had one other 17HMR, and it was a Rossi single shot, that shot so-so...

I've been reading reports and checking out prices on the internet tonight, and I feel I got a very good deal and all the reviews are positive on the gun. I picked up a set of scope mounts and will more than likely slap a Nikon scope on it very soon..

Again.. Am I gonna like it?
