Ah shut up! Sometimes you have to compromise to get anything done. If you just sit there going "NO! NO! NO! ABSOLUTELY NEVER!" all the time you'll be painted as an extremist and nobody will ever take you seriously.

The NRA doesn't compromise on our rights. They oppose all gun control legislation, but will work to amend it so a harmful bill is less dangerous.

Even though the NRA often makes me very angry, I am a member. I sometimes wish they would do things differently though.

I just signed up for the first time, PROUDLY, this past Sunday. I was way overdue in doing it.

Yes, Billy, I am a member, and plan to stay a member. Like several people have already said, they're not perfect, but they're the biggest stick we have, and a cracked stick is better than no stick at all. We all have to stay on the same page, or we lose. The politicos would sell us down the creek in a flash if they could get away with it, and the NRA is the best watchdog we got. So there we be!!! I agree with several here - I am not the biggest fan of current NRA leadership, but the organization is a solid one. I am a NRA member and have to be to stay in my shooting club. I am also a member of the Gun Owners of America (GOA)- they are a no compromise Gun rights organization that take their mission seriously. If you not a member of GOA, please check out this link and consider joining! They are not small time - they have a large membership!

I don't trust the GOA after the sh!t they pulled with the NICS Improvement Act. We lost absolutely nothing in the deal, we got way more options back than we had previously, and they said that the NRA stabbed the American people in the back and abandoned hundreds of thousands of war veterans.

What will the GOA do when this time comes? Nothing.

What will your representatives do? Nothing.

What will grass roots foundations do when this time comes? Nothing.

What will YOU do when this time comes?

I can get another gun. I can't get another life and they WOULD kill me. They do that you know.

Although I don't agree with everything the NRA does, I am a member and will stay a member just to support the "Lobby Power" in Washington that they do have as far as trying to keep our rights from being stripped , and supporting the Eddie Eagle Safety program for the Children.
I am also A life Member Of Citizens Committee for the right to keep and Bear Arms. Pretty Staunch Group as far as our Rights go...Thanks to Alan Gottlieb !
