| Senior Bear Fluffer ![]() | Schmidt Reuben K31 Swiss Anyone have any experience with these? They seem to be interesting and accurate little carbines and I am thinking about picking one up. I have never handled or shot one before so I wanted to ask you all for your opinions and experiences. ![]()

| Senior Member | I have one and it's great. Accurate and hard kicking. The ammo is pricy, I think you can reload with common .308 bullets. They are a nice gun, although the supplies are drying up a little and I don't know if the current ones are as nice looking as some of the older ones. Oh, and I think SOG sells them for only 160.

| Senior Bear Fluffer ![]() | Sounds good to me. I am a sucker for the interesting and unusual and I think this fits the bill. Found some ammo that is not as cheap as 7.62x54R but still affordable. I may not be able to resist.

| Senior Member | Well, there is a guy that sells surplus rifles, you can find him on the surplusrifle.com forums. His name is Todd and he sells nice rifles. They are a little more, but they are hand picked from large shipments. His business name is Family Firearms and Finishs I think. You might see if he has any.

| Moderator ![]() | In general, the walnut stocked rifles are pre-wwII to WWII production, the beech stocks are post-WWII production. I expect there may be the occasional exception though. Once you feel that trigger, you understand the term - "Swiss Precision"! Superb for a military rifle! The Swiss boys took their shooting seriously. This is the only surplus rifle that I have been able to consisitently shoot one inch groups with at one hundred yards - open-sighted! Their GP11 ammo is very nearly match-grade. You'll love it once you get one!

| Senior Member | k31 is a nice weapon seen a write up one them once that stated if made with todays dollars it would be a $2,000.00 rifle. rugged, reliable, accurate, not many firearms with all those quailitys can be had for around $200 these days get you one or two. but +1 on the ammo stock up and might wont to look into reloading if you shoot it alot.
