I just stumbled across your thread, funny or fate. I recieved a call today concerning my C&R application. The woman I talked to wanted to set up an appointment to go over, as she said, my C&R license in her office. I applied for this back in early October '07. Unfortunately, her office is 90 miles from my home. I would have to take a day off from work to do this, and lose a days pay or use a vacation day. She said it was to go over the regulations of a C&R license. She never mentioned coming to my home to see how the rifles would be stored. I then decided that I do not want the C&R that bad, I will just pay the transfer fee if I decide to purchase any more C&R rifles. I can do quite a few transfers for a days pay. She was very pleasant, but it just seemed to me that they were going to make it difficult to obtain the C&R. She told me that I would be mailed a form to fill out and my $30 fee would be refunded.
