Some anti-gunners lump all gunowners into the group you mentioned.

![]() NRA member here. Quit for years after that "jackbooted government thugs" nonsense, though. There's a difference between trying to keep our government in line and demonizing them. and yes...I DO own a gun. Maybe two, if you're going to be nosy about it...

Same old same old arguments pro and con.on the NRA. The bottom line is THEY ARE THE VOICE OF THE THE GUN OWNERS IN CONGRESS !! Do you ever hear any Anti Sen. cry about the GOA or SAF ?? NO. We gun owners are 80 million +strong and the NRA has what? 4 million members?? Thats Sad. Your gun rights aren't worth a few cents a day. I look at profiles on all the gun forums and am really surprised at the # of gun people online that aren't supporters of their sport. THINK NOW 80 MILLION.. OF US. IF HALF JOINED THE NRA. .. What do you think would happen to anti bills in congress...there would be none. Gun owners and NRA members vote in higher % than the average citizen. Not one congressman or woman would want to risk their cushy job by going up against 40 million + gunownerr voters. So for less than $0.09 a day you can be part of the cure not the problem. i don't pretend to agree with the NRA on all things , they T me off regularly, But it's the best pwr we have.USE IT. PLEASE--Life Member --JMJ--

Life member (son is too). If you shoot, own a firearm, or care about the RKBA you need to join the NRA. It's not very expensive, is a loud collective voice, and, in general, does great work. You have an input as well.

All the British shooting organisations were so disjointed & narrow minded and only interested in their own little disciplines that we,the British shooters all got screwed!! We did not have a strong voice with which to make the Government listen and I can see so many similarities creeping into the states. Bit by bit the antis are chipping away at your gun ownership rights. Stand up and be counted! |

I don't agree with their agenda 100%, but then again I don't agree with any organizations agenda 100%. However, I am not a member and I did look into it but I am not sure if there are any benefits to it. What does my money go towards? What benefits do I reap? |

You reap the benefits of keeping your 2nd Amendment rights and you won't be a leech letting the rest of us pay for your right to keep and bear arms....

Yeah, but I mean can you give me examples of what they do other than media promotion? I know they talk a lot but what exactly do they do? Who is the NRA, who are these people I am giving money to each year? I don't know a thing about any of them. | |

As it is said you can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink.....The NRA is not perfect as we are not, too. They are not omnipotent, and they are not weak. They are US, yes the NRA is US, it is an elected group of members who FIGHT for our RIGHTS. If you are not a member ask yourself why? I'm a LIFE member and a contributor to the ILA...If you want to change the NRA..join and you can vote. There are other PRO-GUN organizations and they have alternative posturing. POLITICS folks, it is a dirty game where idealists/pragmatists tend to lose. I am a proud member of the NRA.

I just recently joined after doing a lot of research. And if you need other incentives OTHER than keeping your 2nd amendment rights, look at all the company's that give NRA members discounts, tons of hotels, car rental places. There are a bunch. I just talked my girls mother into joining the NRA, and I'm working on a few buddy's that don't have guns, but plan to buy in the near future. I told them, you better join now or you might not get a chance. Oh yea and everyone is doing it |

I have been a long time member of the NRA. I just wish that they would spend our money more wisely, way too many mailings asking for more money, and sending out unsolicited DVD's and such. The bottom line is, they are fighiting for our rights, and they do have the biggest bat on the street to protect our rights, and God forbid if that other Clinton or that other a**h*** get elected.........Just my opinion
