Why H&K?
What makes them so different from the rest?

There's just something legendary about H&K Weapons. Maybe it's because Heckler and Koch formed the company from what was left of Mauser after WWII.

Everything they make seems to be of high quality, and lots of military units use their weapons. I think these 2 things are the biggest selling points.

Three words: Roller-delayed blowback.

My CETME is that father/grandfather of the HK G3 and is nearly the same. The roller-delayed blowback makes for a reliable and very low recoil rifle. It recoils about the same as a Bushmaster M4 that a guy at the range let me shoot.

They look really cool!

I have owned a couple H&K pistols, but never a H&K long gun. The pistols were Great firearms, but I don't see the "why" relative to the high cost.

I really enjoy my USP .40. The LEM trigger is by far the best DA I have ever shot. I feel the extra $ is worth it.

I have fired CETME's, PTR-91's (heavy barreled HK-91 clone) and HK-91's and although they share the same design, they do not share the same recoil.

IIRC, the timing of the CETME is different than HK. All I know is the CETME (although lighter) seemed to recoil far less than the HK-91 and even less than the much heavier PTR-91.

YMMV.

Interesting... I wonder why that is, since it's basicly the same design. Just makes me that much more proud of my Spanish Lady!... Oh, and I think I've named her. I'll be revealing that over in my post on the G3/CETME boards.

Most of the U.S. Special Forces units use them. They've saved many a soldiers life.

My P7M is the most accurate and comfortable CCL handgun I could find and it's never jammed once even on crap ammo, the other thing I like about them is the fit and finish they just feel hefty and solid.

I carry a USP45 and it is pure outstanding. It has a natural aim point.

i own two an HK usp compact 45 and a Expert 45 , the expert is the top of the line usp

it had a test of 20,000 rounds withour ftf.
