| TOP TWO U.S. ARMY Combat Shooters are...
The top two Combat Match Shooters in the U.S. Army are Women. Toni Kerin from Pa and Bev Spugin from Wyoming. Out of a possible 750 one shot a 742 and the other a 744. Many a man was damn happy with a 730 most NEVER broke a 700. These matches are 100 yd Off Hand 10 shots 2 minutes. 200 yard Standing to sitting, 10 rd w/ mag change in 50 seconds 300 yd Standing to prone, 10 rd w/ mag change 60 seconds 400 yd prone, slow fire, 20 rds 20 minutes. No matter the weather, all positions are UNSUPPORTED, Full Military Gear, LBE or to the Marines 782 Gear, Helmet. Open sights, If it ain't issued you can't have it. 4 to 6 lb trigger. Matches are all M16 If you think it is easy, try it. The Black Gun is very unforgivin and these gals could shoot. Sorry I do not remember the V count. |

The russians learned in WW2 that women had more patience to aquire the target and make that one shot count thats one of the reasons they trained many to be snipers.

Damage I love working with women and teaching them. They are so quick to admit when they make an error that you can easily address it, solve it and move on. Men seem to have a 1000 excuses and it is everything from a BAD ROUND, the GUN WENT OFF TOO SOON, Sun, dust, whatever, that after many 1000s of rounds you are no better off than when you started. Male EGO gets in the way and women response to critique and make the necessary adjustments. Great Shooters and a pleasure to work with. I competed with Toni and Bev, outstanding people. |
