Does it have to be a Mauser? You can get a Mosin Nagant for anywhere from $69.95 to $99.95, and that is in working, shooting condition.
And for $15.95, you'll definately get what you pay for. But, if you'd like to rebuild one, that would definately qualify. lol

And I'm pretty sure the $1500.00 price some are getting are for original all matching numbers? I could be wrong. I'm sure others will give you feedback and let me know if I'm correct or not. This site is very informative and filled with very helpful members.
