Pellet gun fun..

A buddy of mine has a 60' long ranch home with a very nice basement.. He wrangled up a nice big pellet trap, and we're able to shot 50' with ease..

The following are photos of the setup, and shooting fun.. (better than watching TV, anyway)

The trap is just wood, with a 3/16" steel sheet set at an angle, and rubber mudflaps in front of the sheet.. What passes through the mudflaps is stopped by the sheet.. It's a couple feet wide, and we set items on the shelf and hang cans from a string.

The targets are usually old discarded toys, or whatever else we can find.. CO2 canisters and old Mosin Nagant spent casings are good fun..

Stone Cold's been shot a bunch, but he's damn tough and is always ready for more!!

More than one army man has fallen to our shooting.. They're tough, too!!

Yeah, that's a pellet in his hip..

War is hell..

Of course it's well lit, and all the lights are protected by lexan.. This trap has survived 3 winters of pellet shooting.. I think it's got more years left in it..

Here's the range in it's full length..

Here's what the trap looks like before shooting.

And after..

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...l/IMGP0915.jpg

By the way, we don't shoot at the cans.. We shoot at the tabs the cans are hanging by.. Shoot small, hit small..

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...l/IMGP0919.jpg

And here's the trap owner and his son, having a little shooting competition in the basement..

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...l/IMGP0930.jpg

By the way, the doorway they're shooting through doesn't have access to any other way into it.. No chance of someone walking through the door while shooting.. Same rules as a range, with all guns up while setting up targets..

And yes, the pets are locked upstairs while shooting..

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...l/IMGP0908.jpg

Anyway, we'll blast through 250-500 pellets during a session.. $4 for 500 shots seems like pretty cheap fun!! Now for spring rummage sales to find more targets!!

Hell yea man, I have a Bushmaster AR15 .223, 30-06 remington 700, but my pellet gun is so gun, so simple to use, and like you stated cheap, i use wadcutter crosman pellets, best acc ive used... from 30yards they stay with in .5 inch group and they are great for killing birds...
