I have to vote for the Kawasaki Prairie. I have one and so does my brother. I've ridden many others but I like the selectable 4-wheel drive, low range and auto transmission. Much easier to steer than full time 4-wheelers.
And I've driven the Yamaha. Its a good one and I wont say anything bad about it but I felt the steering was a little stiffer than the Prairie. And the Macpherson strut suspenspion on the Prairie is great.
The ONLY thing about Yamahas is that they are almost always louder than others. Still good quads though.

+1 on the ITP Mudlites. I shredded the original 3 ply tires that came with my Sportsman the first time out. The Mudlites are 6 ply, and grip a lot better.

We have two Polarises...a 500 Sportsman and a 330 Magnum. Both are excellent machines and I think most other makes are, also.

If they weren't they wouldn't have survived this long on the market.

Each make and model has its pros and its cons.

One complaint I have with my 500 Sportsman is, even with independent suspension for each wheel, it has the stiffest ride known.

My Dad owns a Polaris dealership here in Iowa and I work part time in it. I've always had a Polaris and love em.

Honda Foreman 450cc 5,750 miles, no kinks. Saved me 1000's of times in the outdoors. A workhorse for me... plowing, dragging my trees for harvested heat in the winter, enough power to play with the big boys, the 4 wheel drive on demand, with the push of a button when ya bite off more than you can chew, taking the grandchildren on a sunday ride, loading the deer on the back rack, takes me fishing and a good visiting vehicle when i stop in at the farmers house.
Not many Honda posts because we don't need too, the atv speaks for itself.
I'm just here helping a friend that has kept me rolling and saved me lots of
cash and time. Its the least thing i could do. And Harley does'nt make one yet.
