Beeman air rifles

i recently purchased a beeman for my son of the ripe age of 4. its a barrell cock gun and the trigger pull is enormous. anyone know of an easy way to lighten the trigger pull so he can shoot it. the only reason he got that instead of a 22 is we live in town now and cant shoot the 22.

Maybe he's not ready yet? My logic with my son and shooting was this, if you can't pick it up, cock it and pull the trigger, your not ready to shoot!. I used this same logic with mowing the lawn. If you can pull it to start it then you can't use it, you're not ready to yet!. Maybe he's not ready yet?

You also might want to check your local laws. Just because you get a pellet gun or BB gun, doesn't mean your town doesn't have some ordinance against them.

i am almost positive he isnt "ready", but i have a limited time to teach him what a father needs to teach. although i know doctors are not always right, i have outlived what i should have. i am 34 and have had 4 heart attacks, quad bypass and a defibulator. hence the sense of urgency on my part. its something that i want him to enjoy after i am gone and i want to be the one he remembers teaching him. and a little on the selfish note, the reasoning behind a pellet instead of bb, i got a load of squirrels in the back yard too.

Good luck and have patience. The attention span of a 4 yr.old is rather short.

Although I do understand you situation, you might want to consider a toy gun? Like maybe one of those plastic Airsoft rifles? Similar in size, easier to use and manipulate. But, as windwalker pointed out, a 4year olds attention span is quite short.

Lastly, don't count yourself so short. Yes, doctors can are always and often wrong. Although, I do understand your urgency. Hopefully, you'll both have plenty of time together to do this and many other father/son things..
