I would say the L1a1, the M14 is great rifle without a doubt but the FAL design has proven itself already in many of those Banana Republic third world countries.
I have a Fal so my vote is pretty biased. If someone would give me a good deal on a M1A, that might sway my vote.
Like seeing the FALs knightRider, I'll have to get mine out for some practice.
