I dont see how a hot pepper would emit any heat. But i could be wrong?
Unless it was a figure of speech?

NONSENSE!

All peppers contain varying amounts of the chemical compound oleoresin capsicum (OC). The hotter the pepper the more OC it has, so the hotter it tastes or feels. The heat of a pepper is rated in Scoville heat units (SHU). This is how "pepper gas" works. If you pick up a can of pepper gas it will have a rating of say 5000 or 10000 SHU.

To make it more clear, a regular green bell pepper is about 3 SHU, a Jalapeno is 30 SHU, and a Habanero is 300 SHU.

So on to the nonsense part. Although it may make your feet FEEL warm if you rub peppers or hot sauce or whatever on them, it will NOT raise the temperature of your skin even by a fraction of a degree. You would endanger yourself because your feet may feel warm when actually they are on the verge of frostbite!

Don't do this.

It would seem to me to be cheaper in the long run to purchase good boots a little over size with good wool soxs if your out and about you might elect to carry extra sox. peppers are good for eating and as dscrick mentioned pepper spray for a line of defense pepper spray works like tear gas it affects the mucous membrane, eyes nose mouth genital and rectal cavities.I don't recall pepper spray having any adverse reaction to skin unless you have an open cut!

I watched and heard that same thing Sunday night during the game and I use this stuff called Capzasin HP for my chronic neck and back pain and it not only works for that but it does get hot as hell. The main ingredient is cayenne peppers. I guarantee if you rub it into your bare feet they'll not only get hot but more then likely once you put your socks on and in your boots or shoes it will keep you warm since we lose most of our body heat through our feet, hands and heads. So I'm pretty sure it will keep you feeling warm. Not to mention your feet won't ache for a few days. Then when you wash them they'll get hot again for a little bit...

Tell you what. You go out and by Capzasin HP, 0.1%. Maroon box made by Chattem, it's actually the generic brand, to me works better then the name brand for arthritic pain. Made from Cayanne peppers. Just rub it on both of your feet, use it liberally, put your socks and shoes on. I guarantee you your feet will be hotter then normal and it will be a while before they register cold, especially when you become active. Go ahead, humor me. lol
