Globe firearms LTD???

I was given a .308 today made by globe firearms ltd. It is a mauser action but I cannot find any other information about this weapon. Have not shot it yet but seems to be in excellent shape. Anyone ever heard of globe, if so any experience.

It is also a model 888. Thanks

Are you sure its not "Global Firearms" which is SAMCO, the importer in Miami...

nope just went and checked again but it is a globe firearms ltd. model 888. It has the 3 pos safety that goes around the back of the bolt. Not like rugers.

I will try to get some pictures later. because I am not the greatest on this here electronic thinkin device so maybe i am not looking in the right place.

by the way it also says on the side of the barrel made in austria

The only other "globe" co was a Canadian Import Company, and not much info is available on them.

I just joined this forum, I was searching the same Item: Globe Firearms LTD; Ottawa-Canada.
That's what reads on the barrel.
It does say: made in Austria.
and it says: special Boehler Steel 411 Cal 308 W.
My uncle gave me this gun, he loved it.
I found the inside of the barrel to be: excellent, shiny and very clean, it has a Built in side loading magazine for 4 bullets.
I would like to know; how to remove the bolt, to clean the mechanism?
I'd like to take it apart, to give it a good cleaning.

So wait a minute, I'm cornfused, you were both (jaeger and josephassaad) given the same gun? One gave a little more info then the other but I'm lost. lmao

i was given the same rifle about 40 years ago from my dad. to take the bolt out, there is a leaver on the left side near bolt, just pull it sideways and pull bolt backwards.

mine has blobe firearms limited - mod 888

on the side it says "made in austria"

Hi! I`m from Ottawa,Canada,I inherited an 8mm Mauser from my grandfather.There is no indication of where it was made,only GLOBE FIREARMS LTD. It is an older import company and not much documentation has survive.

the Globe Firearms Ltd company was a company in Ottawa and according to an old timer it stopped around l960.
this co. bought old military rifles and converted them into hunting rifles.
When registering for the states the name Globe Firearms Ltd, Ottawa, Canada is accepted.
for Jaeger .308 you could check out the Springfield Co. (Mauser action).

hi also have a globe firearms ltd. rifle. It is in a 303 british caliber. I am trying to find out the approximate value the rifle. It is a model 555. If anyone has some knowledge about it I would be glad to hear about it. Thanks alot.
