| If you want a .22-250, you probably want an accurate .22-250. Stay away from the no-name barrels. There are lots of good barrel makers out there, and a good 'smith can help you choose. Plan to spend $200 or more for an unfinished barrel. Add the cost of threading, finishing, chambering, and mounting. Might as well have the action trued and the locking lugs lapped while you are at it. Don't forget the trigger and the bedding. It can run into a bunch. If you do it on the cheap, you won't realize the full potential of the cartridge.
I have had good luck with Hart and Douglas barrels, but there are a lot of other good ones out there. |
