| Senior Member | No bad commentary No bad commentary from me. It is a high quality gun and like all of the more complex actions it is your job to keep it clean and properly lubricated then the gun will do its job. Shoot factory power loads or the equivalent and stay away from hot loads/extreme light or heavy bullets.. |

| Senior Member ![]() | The Browning Auto is a great rifle. The two calibers you are looking at will do just nicely for the rifle intended purpose. If your shots will be on the long side, I would go for a bolt action.

| Registered User | Hi I presume Zinzer is interested in the 270 or 308 for deer hunting. I'm interested in buying a BAR Safari semi-auto or even a Benelli R1 in the 300 Win Mag for a wide range of hunting including Moose. For most hunting, I need a quick follow-up shoot because of the thick terrain in my hunting territory. The range of ammunition available for the 300 Win Mag is good from 150 gr to 200 gr. maybe not has wide has the 30-06 but still good enough for deer to moose... I would appreciate your input in my choice. I'm sure Zinzer will benefit also. ![]() |
