Window shopping and found this, or should I say THESE???

As the title says. I was window shopping today and ran across this or should I say THESE???
It would appear this seller has quite a few sets up for auction, including a Tula. Dam, I wish I had some cash lol. But, I figured I'd pass it along for someone here that just might be interested.

Clever of him to package the guns like that, with matched dates and accessories. The only thing he's lacking is the uniform. $275.00 is no big bargain, though...

That would be really cool to have! I been thinking about getting one of the revolvers to round out the Mosin package.

Totally off topic, but did ya notice the scattergun? I feel sorry for ducks now! LOL!

That's what I was wondering Troy2K. I'm not all that knowledgeable on them and was hoping someone in their reply would comment as to whether or not it was a bargain, or not. Not to mention, if I can at all avoid it, I will not buy sight unseen. Even when they offer an inspection period. Because when I have to send it back, the shipping it cost me to get it initially and then again to send it back, means I now have less to put towards one I may find.
They "appear" to look pretty good, but one never knows until it is "in hand"? Pictures can be made to make things appear better then they are, and they don't always show everything.

I take it then the price on the Tula combo sets he has is also, "no bargain then either"?

You can buy the rifle for $ 79.00 dollars or less and the pistol $ 60.00 dollars or less.

That comes to ah let's see 79 plus 60... 9 + 0 is ah 9. 7 and 6 is ah 7&6 is 12 +1 =13
13 and the 9 is 139.
You can prolly get the pair for around 140 bucks else where...A.H

I's like to know myself. I can't find an M38 for less than 119.

I think that unless you really look, a revolver online will cost you about a hundred bucks, one way or another. J & G has them for $79.99, plus $26.00 shipping. A guy on gunbroker.com is selling them for $99.99, with free shipping.

I'm not up on M38 prices, but I'd say another $120.00 for the gun and shipping would probably be a reasonable deal (others on here might know better than I do). If you went with the set you showed us, you'd be paying a premium for having matching dates. Also, the M38's I've seen usually don't come with accessories, although the revolvers commonly do.

So like I said, not too bad for a package deal, but not a big bargain either. It might be worth it to get them in one fell swoop including accessories and be done with it, especially if you like the matching dates thing.

Exactly my point Troy! One shot, one deal, 2 weapons. May be a little high, but that is not uncommon for me up here!

Thanks a lot guys. Now please answer me this, seeing as how I'm totally Mosin illiterate, but learning thanks to G&G and the many like yourselves that reply. What's the a Tula compared to others?

I to not only like the current production firearms, but also love the history that can become a big part of shooting, if you let it. I like some of the older ones also. Not just for collecting, but to shoot also. If I can help it and the politicians don't, or should I say if the many recent, the past and future senseless shootings don't ruin it for me and us all, I'd like to not only get a Mosin and or a Tula, but also a K31 and maybe a Mauser. My luck if they don't ban them, there won't be any left by the time I save up.

Thanks again for all the heads up info.

If you aren't fussy about matching serial numbers, you can get a M/N Tula hex 91/30 and a Nagant revolver for another $90 from Classic Arms. The rifle comes with an accessory kit including the bayonet; the pistol with a lanyard and a sight tool, but no holster. If you have a C&R license, add probably $30 to that and you have your pair.

So let's see:

$ 90 rifle
$ 90 pistol
$ 30 shipping
$210 total

I guess what you have to ask is if the holster is worth $65 to you. I bet you can get it for less elsewhere.

People pay a premium for Tula over Ishevsk for a couple of reasons. It's an older armory with a storied history; and they made fewer of some models. Some people say the workmanship is better, but I think they might be looking at the brand instead of the gun, sort of. Like the difference between Hex and round receivers, if I were choosing between two otherwise equal guns, the Tula name would be the tiebreaker and that's about it. Of course, I don't really have a collector's outlook, I guess. Or an investor's outlook, either. I just like Mosins...

Agree Troy2K, I was looking at three 91/59's at the Big 5's I had gone to and one was a Tula and the others were Izzy. The tula is a rarity of 5 or 6 and the Izzy is a 2 on the 1-10 scale, but the Tula model's stock looked like someone had chewed on it and beat on it where the top of the forearm had 'fuzzy' wood. It just wasn't one I'd want in my collection so I went and bought the two Izzys, as I had only enough to buy two.... though, I told myself I was only buying one.
