I don't have a photo but here is the story. I had scouted out a spike buck back in about 1983 because I had never killed a spike. I had this deer timed perfectly. Back then I mostly hunted for meat and not antlers and I just wanted to harvest my buck because after the first day it is just luck here. Well I knew that if the hunting pressure wasn't that bad on the first day I would have a legal buck.
The first day came and I walked to my stand about 4:30 in the morning and got myself settled in for the buck I knew would come down the trail at about 8:00 AM if no one spooked him. Well at about 7:30 AM I heard a dog barking coming up the hill towards my stand. There was my beagle trailing me because she wanted to go hunting. I got out of my stand and walked the dog back home and tied her up. Well I knew that the buck was either scared off or it had already passed my stand. So I walked back up the hill disappointed and just stood next to a tree hoping that the Buck was late. At about 11:00 AM I heard a noise, so I looked around the tree and saw the biggest Buck I had ever saw in this area. I shot the buck with my Rem. 700 6MM and it dropped in it's tracks. When I counted there were 11 points. I took the deer to my dads house to show him and he said lets take it to the checking station were I entered you in a Big Buck Contest. Well to make a long story short, I won five hundred dollars. My beagle ate like a queen for a month.
