| Member | I am looking myself, I live in Wa. St. A friend of mine told me some place in Or. I've also been told Montana, but I'd sure like to find out. Canada is supposed to be off the hook, though. Too far for me to travel. Alls we got is a Savage MKII F w/Bushnell 3-9X32, in 22lr, Marlin 980S 22lr w/a Simmons 4X32, and a Savage 93R17 17hmr w/ the Bushnell 3-9X32. All inexpensive, but hella fun. I'd have to get to the 80-100yd range. Oh yeah we also have a Benelli 20ga Nova pump, man I'd have to be real sneaky and get to 20-30yds, think they'd let me? Be vewy, vewy quiet we're hunting p-dogs!!! |

| Senior Member | Leroy Where out west are you going? I have hunted them in eastern WY just about an hour north of Greeley CO. In eastern CO they were put on the endangred species list. UT also has them listed on the endangred species list. I have only known rancher up in Northern Nevada that allowed me to hunt them on his property but now that I live in southern NV I haven't found a place to hunt them. When you do go make sure to bring lots of guns as they get used quite abit and need to let them cool down. I used my .25-06 with 75gr sierra bullets. a bushmaster .223 with 69gr sierra. We even tried bench resting our revolvers at close to 100 yds. Took several shots and got lucky once lol. Scott |

| Senior Member | lefty that looks like a great set up. The few times that I have gone I layed out a blanket and used shooting bags. After a few hours your neck would get sore from laying and looking through the spotting scope and not to mention my collar bone would get sore from shooting 100+ 25-06 rounds. I broke my collar bone 5 years ago and they had to put a plate and screws in it. So now when I shoot heavy recoiling rifles it kind of smarts if i'm in the prone. Not that the 25-06 is a heavy recoiling rifle but after repeated firing it does get sore none the less. |

| Senior Member | Texas Panhandle The Texas Panhandle is experiencing a loss of population in most of the smaller towns. I would advise contacting the Chambers of Commerce or the City Hall in several of these towns as they might have hunting opportunities on file. I would begin searching north of Plainview and keep going until you reach the Oklahoma border. |

| Senior Member | Well, 30 years ago there were huge dog towns outside of Rapid City, South Dakota. It was easy to shoot more than you could keep track of with a good varmint rig. Fun too, they explode with a zippy cartridge. I used a 7mm mag with a light bullet at 3500 fps, a bit large for them, but in case one went rogue and charged I wanted to make sure I had enough gun. |

| Member | I am on the western edge of Denver originally from Kansas City and I am looking for a place to shoot. Camp too if possible with my cousin who is planning to come out this summer. We are good kids. Both college age and responsible. I know that sounds impossible. I just got a new gun that shot .375 MOA the first sit down I had with it. Second time was better than that. Looking to give it a real test. And see how well I am with this Mil-Dot I studied so much for. Thanks! |
