Squirrel

In my younger days I was totally absorbed with hunting Whitetail. Now, however, squirrel hunting, although I have hunted the little buggers on and off for years, especially when my sons were just lads, I find I actually prefer hunting them over anything else. I still hunt deer, of course, but I'm investing less and less time in doing so, and more and more time in squirrel hunting - and loving it! It's a strange thing, indeed, what old age can do to a man.

I enjoy hunting anything that is in season or legal to shoot at the time. However, I have reached the point in life where I mainly walk around in the woods with a firearm on my shoulder and a smile on my face. Have not taken a shot at anything except geese in years. I have seen a lot of animals just prefer to let the younger people of my hunting group take the shots. That way THEY have to clean and drag the things!

Paper, steel and clay critters suffer mightily around me though! I AM addicted to gunpowder.

I killed a skunk last evening. Will I be forgiven for not cleaning and eating it?I killed it because they rob birds nests, including turkey. sam.

I've heard the only way to keep them from blowing is to drown them. Don't know if it's true.

But here's my fav animal to hunt and I'm the one wearing the skunk hat.
