Stock Cleaning

I would like my stock to be cleaner but do not want to refinish it back to New condition, just clean enough to maybe get a little of the build up off it. I dont want to get into real harsh chemicals and rather not take the stock off and just work carefully around it has it dont have to be perfect just cleaner. any ideas? I've read all i can find and most are into totally redoing which is what i wanna avoid. Its walnut btw.

Try some OMS on cheesecloth or a rag. Then finish with thinned BLO - use 50% BLO and 50% OMS or turp. Put it on thin and wait 20 minutes, then wipe off the excess.

I use scotts liquid gold. Spray it on a rag wipe it on leave it for 5 to 10 minutes and wipe it off. It takes all the gun oil and dirt out of the wood and leaves the wood looking and feeling clean. It also helps to keep water out of the wood. The only downside is scotts liquid gold smells awful when you spray it.
