HR 218 and NJ

I recently called the NJ state police and asked if I would need any other documentation to carry under HR 218 besides my Law Enforcement ID. The woman told me "New Jersey does not support law HR 218". I asked to speak to her supervisor. She put me on with her shift sgt, and he told me the same thing. So I asked "you mean to tell me if I am pulled over with my REGISTERED concealed weapon and federal LEO ID I will be arrested" He told me yes unless I have my CCW permit. I called my local FOP and the rep I spoke with wanted the Sgt's name and phone #. Are there any Fed officers or Police Officers on here that can give some advise for Federal Officers carrying in Soviet NJ?

Soviet NJ!! Thats funny, and TRUE...I am a Jersey girl living in SC now, and boy, their gun laws are brutal!!

Good luck finding out what you need...as far as I know, even for LEO's, you can only carry while on duty...pretty sad

Well after a long conversation with the supervisory officer of the NJ state police he stated " I dont know who you spoke with, but ANY Sworn Federal, state or local law enforcement officer is covered under FEDERAL HR 218 and can carry a concealed weapon in NJ, as long as it is owned legally and there is nothing a police officer can do about it. I feel alot better now and want to get a desert eagle for my CCW. ahhh Ill stick with my POS Glock 27
