| Picture of my FEG R61 Sorry, I tried to take as clear as a picture as I could but I guess my camera isn't the best. Anyways, since I still cannot get any info on my FEG, I'd at least show a picture of it.....kinda looks like a PA63, but lucky to have it chambered .380! Again, my apologies on the pic quality. |

| Where did you save the picture on your computer? I think a lot of those that put their pictures up use shutter fly or other online pictures services. But I can try and help. Where you type in for a post, do you see a little picture with mountains on it? Anyhow, try copy and pasting the link of the picture, then paste it in to where you type. Then re copy it and then click on the little picture logo, then past it in and click ok. If that don't work, I don't know what to say. Hard to type it all out you know... Good luck.

| Somehow I placed it as an attachment...you have to go to the FEG forums and double click the paperclip icon to the right of my message title. I will learn the ropes! Thanks for the help, Glock. |

| No problem. I'll go look at it. I like gun porn. lol Saw it. SO it's as an attachment. It can still be seen. What caliber is that? I'm FEG illiterate.

| Arkansas...just went to the site you mentioned....I saw PA-63's, that is the next gun I want to get, but in .380, not in 9x18. I cannot get any information on the gun itself, but I did find that the R61 was made after changes were done to the PA63's frame. I also learned that the image on the middle of my gun's slide is the hungarian communist crest....the few FEG's I have seen lack this marking...I search for FEG's with that crest. |

| R-61 manual I have a R-61 in 9 Mak. I've had it about ten years and 2000 rounds with never a problem. The dealer that sold it to me gave me a copy of a Walter PPK manual. The diagrams and workings are the same. Part details (size of springs, etc.) are just different enough as to not be interchangable. |

| Thank you so much for that info...and glad to hear of another FEG R61 owner! Once I learned my R61 was a .380, I have never had any more probs with it.

| I stumbled onto this thread while looking for info on my FEG. I too have an FEG R61 .380. I picked it up well over 10 years ago when FEG's first hit the American market. Mine has the Hungarian Communist crest on the slide as well. I love this little gun. It shoots well, but it seems to have pretty heavy recoil for a .380. I'm assuming that's because it is so light. It kicks almost as hard as my Glock 23 .40 S&W. Last edited by RatBoy!; 09-25-2008 at 11:00 PM. |

Since this gun is my first....I never compared it to other guns! Now that I have, I still rank it up there as one of my favs. I can handle the recoil....its a bit much because of its size......I have shot off my husband's .40 & .45 and it has a lighter recoil......obviously those guns are also a bit bigger than the FEG. I don't shoot my FEG as much because parts are hard to find since FEG is out of business. It remains one of my main carry guns.

| Mrs. S and Rat Boy - There are a couple of reasons that these pistols seem to kick fairly hard. First, because of the design of the pistol, with the barrel attached solidly to the frame, they transmit more of the energy into the frame than a pistol where the barrel moves as part of the design. Second, these are fairly light weight pistols because of the alloy frame. I think the recoil compares more closely to a .38 spl snubnose revolver. George |
