Just a question

First, I am new to this site and am really enjoying what I am reading. There is a lot of like mind thinking. My question is that if shtf and it was necessary to leave the area where I live, would it be possible to hook up with any of you all? I would not come empty handed, but I know I would be hesitant to bring in a stranger. Would you be open? How could I convince you that I can contribute? There always seems to be safety in numbers.

Think I've already greeted you, but nothing wrong with doing it twice. lol Welcome aboard. It's always best, IMHO, to try and hook up first with family and then maybe friends. I'm sure if there is someone near where you live, that may not have a problem with it. But then, who knows. I can't speak for anyone but myself.

Frankly, I see no sense in driving, or how ever travel may have to be done, and if by foot, I especially see no sense in traveling hundreds, maybe thousands of miles for someone that may or may not be there, if contacting them first isn't possible.

I suppose it would also depend on exactly what SHTF scenario has taken place? I'm in Illinois. I don't think it'd make sense for anyone out west, other then family to try and make it this way. Again, just one members opinion.

I'm in Northern CA. If I had to leave I would have adequate supplies. I could go on about what I could contibute, but would you trust me? At some point I would believe new blood would be necessary.

When SHTF I will have a small group with me, mostly family, but hardly any more than that.. (immediate family only, the rest don't understand) If we were to take in any more people, they would definitely have to prove themselves, not only in defensive posture, but also logistically (food, supplies, etc) If they couldn't, I would hate to discard them, but in a worst case scenario, its them or me, and I'll bet on myself... If there was a way for you to prove yourself and you came ALONE, I could probably consider taking ya in...

BTW.. welcome to the boards

Thanks for the welcome. If I had to relocate I would have my family. I would also be able to contribute with supplies. I know if rolls were reversed I would hesitate to let anyone in, but it would be my nature to want to trust others. This would /could be my downfall.

citylivin, if Montana succeeds from the U.S. and some event leads to Martial Law being declared in the U.S. lots of folks will be moving toward Montana. Might keep this in mind.

Yes

I would be proud to share my lot with a fellow member of this forum
who knows and appreciates firearms.

Whether we could hook up would depend on the state of, or perhaps
better to say, the state of destruction of the nation's communication system.

Perhaps the breakdown of society would happen in such a slow
motion that a good window for communication would exist for a while?

welcome

citylivin: Sir; your describing a 'two' way street. Yes you would be welcomed; under the condition; you don't like our company "leave".

I'll nor should you tolerate being stuck with a bunch of 'crap'. Your particular skills will be appreciated without question, your ability to grasp survival attitudes, your ability to understand will be all that I would ask

My plan [if I had one} keep my family safe. My plan if others joined; WE would keep our family's safe.

My nature; if I were alone; raise some cairn. In other post. BE BY myself which at this point aint gonna happen.
Say your prayers that this never happens.
