| HMFIC ![]() | Season for camping is right around the corner! I'm getting excited again as I see the temperatures rise above 65 degrees! I believe I will go to the mountains this summer for a 2-3 day camping trip, and another one down to the ocean hopefully once again on the island... So relaxing... Anyone else have any plans this summer for camping?

| Sure, rub it in. It must be nice to have the temps start rising above 65 degrees. lol It's still flipping 27 degrees here in northern Illinois. Brrrrrrrr. I love camping. Unfortunately my body can't handle sleeping on the ground anymore and I/we don't have a camper or motor home, and in my book that isn't camping anyhow. lol Camping doesn't involve small fridges, microwaves and electricity in general. Camping involves a tent, on the ground, in sleeping bags. So enjoy it while you can...

| Camping is best down here in the autumn and early spring, and winter if it isn't too frigid. Summer is mighty hot in a tent! Skeeters are bad too.

| Glock....that is why I am glad that I married my southern man...who had no problem taking me out of the frigid north!!!, lol. I and my family have a 28 foot pontoon and we will take the kids out on it and do some night crappie fishing, lights and all, and then camp out on land that is closest to our boat when its time to go to bed! Husband is already priming his pontoon for spring/summer use!!!

| Augh, I am already dealing with spring fever and then this comes up. No camping here until mid-late May. Too much snow and ice and cold until then. Even the bears have sense enough to stay snuggled in their dens til then. |

I'll have the camper trailer, 4 wheeler, 2 gold dredges, 2 bazooka dredges, diving gear, and prospecting tools....Should be fun trying to find lots of "Color" in the Creeks...and washing rocks! Rich

| Troll B' Gone ![]() ![]() | Yup, I always do a little camping every summer, it's just a load of fun to sit out under the stars, by an open fire. I usually camp on the Buffalo River, here in Northwest Arkansas, and do a bit of fishing.

| I have to concure with Glock. I go camping for my birthday every year in April. Usually have to deal with mid 30's to low 40's during the day. Last year it was a snow storm. Dont get me wrong, I still love it. Just keep a blazing fire going. |

| Super Moderator ![]() ![]() | I'll be taking my old renovated 16' Alum. fishing boat to Smithville Lake at least once a week starting in about one month...or less trying to catch crappies again. With plenty of 30 SPF sun block on, and a wide brim hat, I'll be on the lake from 9 a.m. till at least 2 or 3 p.m. feeding those fish with either lures, worms, or minnows. I've already got my season passes on the boat and my SUV. Costs me $55 for a seniors season pass. It's 42 Deg F here in Kansas City today and looking more like spring every day. Grass is green, trees are budding out and the daily temperatures are staying up there which enourages me to be outside as much as possible. But...there's one more hunting season I'll probably take part in this time of the year...it's turkey hunting season again here in MO. Gotta practice up on my call'in and get the cammo clothes ready for use.

| I buzzed out to the local woods for a quick 'overnighter' last Friday evening - testing some new gear before the bigger trips. New woodland camo bivytent - fairly good. Does tend to form condensation inside if the atmospheric condition is right. New 30degree-rated semi-mummybag - okay - a bit short for me. Already working on a mod to make it fit better. Temp got down into the high 30's, and the bag worked fine for warmth. New rackbag for the bike - a semi-rigid 'soft cooler'. Held the mummybag, the tent and some extra gear - very good! Has two good bottle carriers for more water stowage too. Or fuel bottles (came with two 20 oz. red aluminum bottles!) if I get the Coleman Dual-Fuel stove I'm looking at! I rate it as a good first 'trial campout'!! And best of all - at fifty yards in light pine forest and light brush - the bike, tent and all, just disappeared!! VERY good!! ![]()
