^+1! The Savage M24 was my first REAL gun as a child of 10. When I left home, I gave it to my little brother to use. He tore it down and never got it back together. When I got it back, I played with reassembly for weeks. Some parts went right together, some I never did figure out. Finally did the smart thing and took it to a 'Smith. He assembled it, lubed it and replaced a firing pin spring. $10!

Yesterday, I was in a local gunshop, and a guy came in with a brand new never been fired 1911 clone that he had disassembled too far. The owner reassembled the pistol, then taught the guy how to field strip it and clean it, then reassemble it. No Charge! There are good "smiths still out there. Find one and stick with him.
The owner of the pistol insisted on giving him $10. Smart move.
