unsure

hi just purchased my first m1 carbine universal after reading some comments about these rifles i'm wishing i did'nt paid $500.00 off auction arms still have time to send it back whats your thoughts. rifle looks to be in good shape have'nt shot it yet, don't know if i should. riffleing does'nt look to strong but its there

$500 for a Universal is somewhat steep. They usually sell for around $300-$350 (or less). Personally, I'd send it back and use the $500 for a USGI carbine from CMP...you'll even have some money left over most likely; then you can buy some ammo for the little beast.

The CMP is the former DCM, Director of Civilian Marksmanship. Though not a gov't entity,they dispose of U.S. GI firearms. There are some qualifying steps, the instructions are on the site. Once you qualify you can purchase genuine surplus much less than market prices. Well; that explanation may not satisfy everyone, but it's close. Here is their web site, play with it and look around.
