made in brazil

i realize that many if not all springfields 1911s are made in brazil, but the question that i have yet to receive a good answer for, why is some stamped imbrel and other stamped illinois .no mention of brazil.
i am sure the quality is there, but made in brazil , well i want americana
what percentage of pistol has to be completed to be stamped brazil???

Smile What I have been told.

I have been told some enter the USA assembled ready to sell. Then some are sent as parts and assembled in the USA. But all the parts are imported from Brazil. If this is wrong please let me know.

Brazil made...

IIRC, the less expensive models (GI Series...) are assembled in Brazil,The more expensive
models are assembled here in the U.S.Origin of the parts,I am uncertain about.
